Project Awareness

Project Awareness is the name given to our efforts for getting the word out about senior health care.

We work with the University of Minnesota School of Nursing and Metropolitan State University to bring future health care workers to our clinics for hands on training working with seniors at Parkway Gardens, Wilson Hi-Rise and Love Grows Here Wellness Center.

We work with the Living at Home Network( http://www.elderberry.org)

and 41 other Block Nurse Programs to work with legislators to pass laws that help our seniors receive proper health care.

We help seniors by advocating with doctors, nurses and other health care providers so that they can better understand the seniors needs and provide help to the seniors when they don’t understand treatment courses or medications.

We actively recruit volunteers to work directly with seniors by providing rides, chore services, and respite care so that the community can better understand the needs of seniors.

We provide and partner with other organizations to bring health care awareness to seniors so that they may better understand chronic diseases its management and prevention. We also educate seniors and their care givers on fall prevention a leading cause of injury and death among seniors.
