Parkway Gardens Wellness Center
Parkway Gardens Wellness Center provides a safe and confidential place where seniors can learn to monitor their health and obtain advocacy, coaching and referrals when needed.
Parkway Gardens is a partnership with the University of Minnesota School of Nursing and Dayton’s Bluff Seniors to help educate health care students on the needs of seniors, and is a hands on learning initiative. Health Care students come to the Parkway Gardens senior living center on Tuesday Afternoons from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, where they provide wellness check for seniors who reside at Parkway Gardens.
Service currently provided, but not limited to are:
- Blood pressure checks
- Medication education and set up
- New medical device education
- Advocacy to doctors and pharmacies
- Chronic disease education and management
- Networking with community resources such as Brown Bag Program and the SNAP program to assist in food resources
