Patricia Y. Talbert, Ph.D., MPH., CPHA., CHES

Dr. Talbert is an associate professor at the University of Phoenix (UOPx) for the School of Advanced Studies / College of Health and Human Services. She specializes in studies of Public Health with a primary focus on women’s health, health care management, and health promotion and education.  Her research interests include primary prevention of cancer, cardiovascular disease, sexually transmitted diseases, youth violence, and exploring health disparities, with a focus on social and physical determinants of health.  Her most recent publication “A Community Health Social Change Program: The Harlem Mothers Stop Another Violent End (SAVE)” published in the Journal of Problems and Perspectives in Management. She serves on numerous boards and committees including the Health care Quality Management Board, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, the Association for the Study of Higher Education, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Powell Center for Women’s Health, and the Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) Faculty Council.  She currently serves as an Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) Peer Reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.
